How to Spot Fake Supplement Reviews: Signs and the FTC Rule

To spot fake supplement reviews, look for health promises, copied wording, no sign of a real order, and perfect scores with no detail. The FTC rule effective October 21, 2024 bans fake consumer reviews and review suppression. This site shows no star score, count or customer quote for Flow Nerves, because none is verified.

The law

What does the FTC rule say about fake reviews?

It bans them. The Federal Trade Commission rule, published August 22, 2024 and effective October 21, 2024, bans fake or false consumer reviews and testimonials, review suppression, and buying or selling fake indicators of social media influence (FTC, Reviews and testimonials rule (2024)).

Review suppression means hiding or blocking honest reviews. A site that shows only praise can fall in that group. The rule does not make every glowing review fake, and it cannot find a fake for you.

Warning signs

What are the signs of a fake supplement review?

Fake reviews tend to promise results, repeat each other and carry no proof of purchase. None of these alone proves a fake, but several together are a reason to pause.

SignWhy it matters
Promises a resultThe FTC wants claims backed by human clinical testing (FTC, Health products guidance)
Same wording across reviewsCopied text points to one author
No order link or dateA real order can be matched; a quote cannot
Only five-star scoresHonest products draw mixed feedback
Photos that look stagedStock or vendor images are not a buyer's own

The FTC also says individual experiences are not a substitute for scientific research (FTC, Health products guidance).

A quick routine

How do you check a supplement before you trust its reviews?

Check the label first, then the reviews. A review cannot tell you what is in the capsule, so the label comes first.

  1. 01

Check the seal and your medicines

On a new bottle, check the seal and read the label. List any diabetes, blood thinner, blood pressure, thyroid or seizure medicine you take and ask your doctor or pharmacist first.

  2. 02

    Pick a meal

The sales page and the brief say to take it with a meal. Choose a meal you eat every day, such as breakfast, so the habit sticks.

  3. 03

Take 1 capsule with a full glass of water

One capsule a day. Swallow it with a full glass of water. Do not double up if you miss a day; confirm the directions on your bottle.

  4. 04

Keep a simple log and see your doctor

Note sleep, stomach upset, dizziness or anything odd. Keep every prescribed medicine going, and stop and ask a clinician if you react. New numbness or tingling needs a visit, not a log.

Why does this site show no Flow Nerves reviews?

None are verified. The seller's page showed a score, counts and sample quotes, and we do not publish them. No rating, review count or customer quote appears here, and we will not invent one.

When real ones are matched to orders and the buyer agrees, they will go in clearly marked slots. For the rule behind this choice, see the FTC page above (FTC, Reviews and testimonials rule (2024)).
